We help them solve their own challenges. They build businesses that increase sustainability and create income. They’re in control and we are there to teach, support and help find solutions wherever in the world they may be.

CURRENT PROJECTS

Burundi – basic business skills changing lives.

To date, 180 women and men have received training in basic business skills. The result? On average a 542% increase in income after one year. The impact? Children’s school fees paid, water filters purchased, adequate food…

Healthcare Facilities, Rumphi District, Malawi

Water, handwashing, cleaning, contaminated waste management…  all essential to keeping healthcare facilities healthy for patients, families, and staff.

“As a pregnant woman about to deliver my baby, I had to walk a kilometre to fetch water for the labour ward as there was no water supply at the hospital. Now, thanks to STREAMS, we have lots of water, convenient places to wash hands, clean toilets, and more. We are so happy!”

Rwanda – Meeting basic needs through education

TIC Director John Jordan was transformed by a visit to Rwanda in 2009. Starting by helping struggling grandmothers with things like a roof that doesn’t leak, and access to safe water, Rwanda Rising added educational support to the program. The rewards are enormous. “Given a chance to get a good education, students work so hard! And are incredibly grateful that they can see a way out of extreme poverty.”

Malawi – Repairing a termite-infested Maternity Centre

A call for help came late in 2023 as the Maternity Department at Jalawe healthcare facility was about to be closed. Termites had eaten through the wooden beams and some of the brickwork and it was about to collapse. Women would have to travel hours away to give birth! Rotary Clubs stepped up and worked with TIC with funds to renovate the building.
