How You Can Help

You have many options for supporting Transform International Canada (TIC), including donations to the organization or specific programs, bequests and gifts, volunteering, and helping us fundraise.

We recommend if you are contemplating a legacy gift that you speak with your estate lawyer and/or an independent financial advisor. Feel free to give them our contact information should they have questions.

For information about any of the following options, please contact our CEO, Carla Funk.

Donate to a Program

When you make a donation to TIC, you can choose to direct it to a specific program, or allow us determine where it is needed most. Visit the Projects page for details on our current areas of focus.

Bequests

Bequests of any size are an important way to leave a legacy. Leaving a bequest in your Will is easy, can be changed at any time, and will reduce your estate taxes.

If you decide to remember TIC in your Will, please be sure to let us know your wishes, and allow us to properly thank you for your support.

Gifts of Stock

If you have investments that have increased in value over the years, those gains will trigger capital gains taxes for your estate. Your best tax advantage for a gift of stock is a direct donation.

The federal government has eliminated capital gains tax payable on the appreciated value of these gifts. This means your estate will receive a tax credit to lower income tax payable. Your estate will receive a tax receipt for fair market value of the stock on the day of the transfer to Transform International (Canada)’s account, which will help offset income taxes due on your estate.

You can bequeath prescribed bonds, mutual funds, exchange traded funds, shares, warrants, bills and futures that are listed on the stock exchange.

You don’t have to wait to give a gift of stocks – you can donate these today for the same tax benefits. A gift of securities can be transferred today, or in your will.

Gift of RRSP/RRIFs and TFSAs

You can make a future gift of a registered retirement savings plan (RRSP), income fund (RRIF), or tax free saving account (TFSA) and support the work of Transform International (Canada).

These are the easiest deferred gifts you can make. Simply change the beneficiary to Transform International (Canada). By designating TIC as a direct beneficiary of registered plans or a TFSA, we issue a tax receipt for the value transferred. You can name more than one beneficiary which means that you can include your family as well as Transform.

If you decide to remember TIC with a gift, please be sure to let us know your wishes, and allow us to properly thank you for your support.

Volunteer

TIC is always looking for volunteers – part of the richness of what TIC provides. Whether it’s providing technical or admin support here in Canada, or traveling abroad to provide support to a program, there is no shortage of opportunity. Contact Us if you are interested in exploring further.

Fundraise for us

There are many ways you can help: share campaigns on Facebook, present to a local Rotary Club, or simply introduce friends and family looking for opportunities to make a difference. Contact Us to connect further.
